On March 10, Lena Nanushyan, First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Armenia, Samvel Kharazyan, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Universal Health Insurance Foundation, and Tigran Hovhannisyan, Head of the Foundation’s Department of Contracts, Methodology and Quality Management, conducted a site visit to the St. Gregory the Illuminator Medical Center in Yerevan.
During the visit, a number of important issues related to the organization and delivery of healthcare services were discussed. In particular, attention was given to the remuneration mechanisms for medical personnel, the scope of screening programs, the efficiency of the appointment scheduling system, and the overall workload of the medical institution. Other topics included the implementation of vaccination programs, the organization of medical visits and consultations, as well as matters related to the number of residents registered with the facility.
Lena Nanushyan and representatives of the Foundation also spoke with members of the medical staff, listening to their observations and suggestions aimed at improving the organization of healthcare services. The Foundation’s leadership also presented information on planned changes to the bonus system.
As part of the visit, Samvel Kharazyan and Tigran Hovhannisyan also visited the Nor Nork Health Center in Yerevan. They toured several departments of the facility and familiarized themselves with its operational processes on site. During the meeting, issues related to the center’s technical capacity, financial allocations, and existing challenges were addressed. It was emphasized that gradual and continuous improvements are necessary to further develop the healthcare system and to ensure more efficient and optimized management of healthcare service delivery.
Such visits will be conducted on a regular basis in order to monitor the activities of healthcare institutions and jointly address existing challenges.
