On February 19 the regular meeting of the Council of the Armenian Medical Association (AMA) took place at Ani Plaza Hotel. The Acting Executive Director of the Universal Health Insurance Foundation, Samvel Kharazyan, also participated in the meeting.
The Armenian Medical Association brings together specialized medical associations operating in the Republic of Armenia, their leadership, as well as physicians and experts in biomedical sciences and public health.
The key agenda item of the meeting was the Universal Health Insurance system. During the discussion, Samvel Kharazyan addressed a wide range of questions raised by participants. Planned steps related to the potential expansion of service coverage, pharmaceutical provision, and the implementation and further development of the system were presented. Particular attention was also given to the topic of medical personnel remuneration, with the applied approaches and existing schemes being presented.
The meeting served as an important platform for professional dialogue aimed at the effective implementation of the Universal Health Insurance system. As a result of the discussion, further directions for cooperation with healthcare institutions and professional associations were jointly clarified, with the aim of ensuring the efficient and well-organized delivery of services to beneficiaries.
